There was a glow in the distance. It was a signal, a reminder, a warning, a clue, a hope and a weapon. 

Fire was everything we needed to survive. The elementary nature of it has not changed over the centuries. Matter converted to energy and light. Fires burn eternal, but the entropy of the universe remains constant. Energy released, transformed and reused. It reminds me of the great mechanics of the universe, so many of which we are not yet able to master. But, fire was given to us. To show the way, to illuminate and vanquish the darkness. It is symbolic to the conquering of darkness with light.
