Waterline is quite self explanatory. Its about water. Its about the things that it flows over, the reason that it flows, the sparkling quality, the ripples and finally the traces it leaves when its gone.

My Trip to Killarney

Killarney had been on my to-do list for a while. I had heard about the beautiful national park and the surrounding areas are a must visit. So, in the summer of 2023 I booked a ticket and a few days of stay at a local hostel and I was off.

It was a the month of May, and I was lucky to get a very sunny spell for the few days I was there. My stay was booked at The Black Sheep Hostel. It had been a long time since I had stayed at a hostel and I was not particularly enthusiastic about it. I figured that I was only going to be there for a few hours and so it would be ok to just go for it. I picked the hostel which was closest to the national park of Killarney. My plan was to take photographs and hopefully even gather some material for my videos.

The hostel was basically a town house which had been converted, and it had some interesting features. It was comfortable and cosy and I did not have much trouble either. It turned out to be a good choice after all.

The had booked myself a bunk bed and I was excited, as I just felt a few years younger as I stepped into the room. I had travelled a fair bit and had stayed in some particularly rough places in my youth. This was much nicer of course, and it was all I needed. I got myself the to bunk so that I would have a good night's sleep.

Day 1 - Killarney National Park

I was looking forward to visiting the park next morning, as the weather was perfect for a long walk. The sun was up and shining and I had a perfect opportunity to take photos and gather material for my video.

I started quite early next morning and I remember at 8 am I was already near the entrance of the park. There is a big cathedral near the entrance of Killarney park and it looked just stunning in the morning light.

As I walked on I came across an old Irish style house.

I walked on and was finally greeted with the sights of greenery and mountains. I was soon feeling the fresh cold air starting to awaken my senses.

It is full of lakes and mountains. I was there for days and I stayed at a hostel in the Killarney town center, very close to the park. It was a long and winding walk to the lake and the castle.

I used the park as an inspiration for all the footage thats part of the video. I was shooting while I was walking and taking photographs as well.
